What to Expect During Your First HubSearch Call

Here’s the thing: job hunting is stressful. It can feel like a full-time job between applying, interviewing, doing assessments, and tailoring your cover letter for each position (don’t worry, we don’t believe in cover letters). Where you fall on the job search spectrum:

One of the biggest misconceptions we hear from candidates is that you need to be actively looking for a new job in order to chat with a recruiter. The truth is, we love getting to chat with candidates who are actively looking, passively looking, and everything in-between. Letting us know where you are in your job search allows our recruiters to know how quickly you’re looking to make a move and helps us evaluate the amount of communication you’re looking for.

What you’re looking for in your next role:

What are your must-haves or deal-breakers? Is there anything that would entice you to make a move? This helps HubSearch gain a better understanding of your dream job. As we mentioned above, if you’re not actively looking to jump ship, most candidates don’t want to pass up the opportunity to learn about a position that checks all of their boxes.


Your experience:

This is your time to shine. Help us paint the picture of what the day-to-day looks like in your current role. Resumes are great, but concrete examples and accomplishments are even better. Keep in mind, we love hearing about the tech stacks you have experience working with, too. Do some bragging, we don’t mind!


Salary Expectations:

Transparency is key. Our recruiters aim for a ~$10K salary increase from your current role. Don’t be afraid to share the number you’re looking for, as it helps us narrow down what positions to chat about. We never want to waste your time talking about roles that aren’t exciting for you.
