Alix Thornton: Why I Chose HubSearch

2020 has been an incredibly strange year; a global pandemic, an election year, and forest fires plaguing the west coast, the list goes on and on. You would think changing jobs would not be the best choice due to the state of the economy and all of the unknowns. Well that was the hesitations I had when starting my job search. I came from a large corporation with over 80,000 employees, which did provide me the tools and knowledge of recruiting and I am very thankful for that, but I felt it was time for a change. I wanted to be a part of a company that made me feel like I had a voice and the ability to grow not only in the company but in my career as a whole. I wanted to get out of the corporate world and find something smaller and more niche to a certain market. 

I was first approached by Jason via LinkedIn and as I learned more about HubSearch I was drawn to it immediately. Right off the bat after our first meeting I was eager to make it to the next round and prove to the team that I was qualified for the role. I found my mindset shifting from I want a change in life to I want that change to be at HubSearch. 

They are one of the only companies to focus on the HubSpot ecosystem making them experts in the field. They have a strategic business model put in place that allows them to provide the best of the best talent for their clients. HubSearch has a unique recruiting model put in place that combines both agency style and inhouse. It is a no-brainer that filling a position is time sensitive and the business model they have in place allows them to deliver fast results while still making sure the quality is up to par. They go above and beyond to learn about the clients needs, wants, and the position that they are looking to fill. They make sure they are fully equipped to find the right talents for each role. Not only do they go above and beyond for their clients but equally for their consultants. They take the time to learn about each individual's background, what they are currently doing, and what they want to do next. HubSearch’s team makes sure that each candidate is prepared for the interviews and fully equipped to do well in the interviews. A big frustration in the recruiting world is waiting on feedback from both parties. Due to the model that HubSearch has in place, it alleviates those frustrations and makes the process for both parties seamless and enjoyable. 

When I was introduced to the team I automatically felt welcomed and a part of the HubSearch company. The team feels more like a family and they all truly want each other to succeed both personally and professionally while pushing one another to achieve their goals. It is so important to have a good group of coworkers surrounding you, we spend more time at our jobs than we get to spend with most of our family. Work is such a large part of our daily lives, and I have grown to appreciate how calming and inspiring it can be to work with people you genuinely enjoy. The entire HubSearch team made me feel welcome and confident that I could come in and contribute to their company achieving their long term goals. 

All the things that I was searching for in a role I immediately saw at HubSearch. The big corporate company life was enjoyable for a while and was an incredible learning experience, but IT was never my favorite position to recruit for. I always enjoyed the digital and creative jobs I was able to fill, but they were too far and in between to say I truly enjoyed my work. That was the main component I was looking for in a company, and what really drew me in to HubSearch. From the get-go, there was no doubt there was a work hard, play hard mentality but also encouraged work life balance as well which I was very impressed with. I am thrilled to be a part of this growing team and company and cannot wait to watch this company thrive.
